Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the operator and managing body of Bahrain International Airport (BIA), held a training course titled ‘Performance Management Programme for Enhancing System Utilisation’ for BAC team members at the Majestic Arjaan by Rotana.The 3-day course was presented by Career Management and Business Excellence Founder, Dr. Wajdi Abushabab, who delved into several key areas of the subject, such as the importance of linking individual objectives to organisational objectives, setting clear performance expectations, and developing the right measurement tools.The participants also received training on how to offer constructive feedback on performance, including the importance of continuous and on-the-spot feedback as opposed to end-of-year evaluations; techniques on giving continuous feedback despite increasing workloads; recognizing good performance while handling low performance and unfavorable behavior; and tips on conflict resolution. The course ended with practical practice sessions testing the theories.BAC is the authority responsible for enhancing BIA and increasing the airport’s contribution to the local economy in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030. In its operational role, BAC is responsible for elevating the airport’s operations, infrastructure and services. This is set to improve BIA’s capabilities and cater to the growing number of passengers as well as the changing demands of stakeholders.
