Leaders of the Global Economy: Rewiring the Economy from an Islamic Perspective

To ‘rewire’ the global economy, the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) in 2015 developed a new ten-year plan. Although we are very keen about this ten-year plan, our main objective in the present paper is to confirm that the plan created by CISL in the year 2015 takes the same approach as was taken by the Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) more than 1400 years ago. We aim to reflect this by giving a very few examples from the Prophet’s ten years in Madinah which helped the Islamic economy to flourish in the Arabian Peninsula.
